November 12

We saw some of the most beautiful fall colors on the trees during our four-day trip.  I failed to take pictures until we got almost home.  Here are a few I snapped during our last two hours in the car.

Teri Lynne flew to Pennsylvania for a combined visit with Sandra (my roomie from She Speaks) and the Relevant conference.  It was gorgeous!

The girl wanted to go shark fishing … so surrogate grandpa, Mr. Laymon, took her (and Mommy and Daddy).

She caught her shark …

GEDC0009 … though it appears she was a little afraid of it!!

She also got to drive the boat …

GEDC0026…which she liked.

And her daddy enjoyed the ride!

A little self portrait of me on the way.

So, we have these birds that have made a nest in our chimney.  This is the second or third year they’ve done so.  But the first year it’s happened since we moved our den back into the room with the fireplace.

The little chimney swifts have finally hatched from their eggs … but they continue to chatter in the chimney.   Tonight, Casiday and I were the backyard watching them fly around and then go back down the chimney.

The pictures are blurry but we counted about 8 birds total.

Today we had a little unexpected guest.

He was also an uninvited guest.

Nice, huh?

Here’s another shot …

With the help of my daughter, Mr. Laymon, a shoe box and the fly swat, our little guest was safely removed – unharmed – from the premises.

What the cat did with him once he got back outside … well, now, that’s just really not my problem.

I was fascinated with the clouds on our drive home from Alabama today.

Grass is growing in the bird feeder ... I know there's a blog post in there somehow!!

May 29

More work in the yard ... we finished the little patio for my new green chairs.  And, I've tested them out with both Scott and Deborah.  The whole spot is perfect for relaxing!!

We also put mulch in the flower bed ... it looks so good!!

And here's a view of all of it!

Thursdays are ballet day for Casiday ... here is her intermediate class.

After dance tonight, we went to eat at Speed's Kitchen in Shellman Bluff.  It is way out in the middle of nowhere but has amazing shrimp.  On the way home, I got some great pics crossing over some of the south Georgia Rivers.

More yard work ... and a beautiful new flower bed is finished!

Here's a panorama view of the whole yard ... {which I did not realize my camera would do until today!}

We are thrilled with how it has all turned out and enjoy spending evenings out there looking at this ~

Beautiful sunrise this morning!  Casiday took these pictures before she left for school.

March 11

It was a very rainy, gray day here in south Georgia ... but all that gray just made THIS even more beautiful.
