The Story of Me ~ Part 6

Yikes, huh?  Nice Farrah Fawcett feathered hair ... and notice the pre-braces teeth as well.  I'm guessing that for many people photos from 4th grade are not their favorites.

In 4th grade, we moved back to Oklahoma.   Back to Prague, specifically.   We lived in a different house there but still out in the country.   My grandparents had moved from Missouri to Oklahoma and they lived just a quarter mile or so down the road from us.   My aunt and uncle and their four children were living in the house we had lived in before we moved to Colorado.  So, lots of family within a two-mile area.

We only stayed in Prague until Christmas ... then moved to Tecumseh, just about 40 minutes away.   For some reason the main thing I can remember about living there is our address ... 405 Myrtle Drive.   Our house was a little green one and we lived in a nice neighborhood.

P.S. Okay, we're up to 9 homes in 4 states - 7 towns/cities - and 4 different school districts.

  1. I loved that picture of you. Again, I had it framed in my house for a long time.

  2. It's rough when you have to move a lot as a kid. I had to but not as much as you!

  4. I had forgotten that you attended school in Tecumseh. Did you tell Mary that? Do you remember your teacher's name? What I remember is riding around with your mom at night -- we both needed to get out! :)

  5. Molli - I love that you have always had photos of me framed in your house. It's a treasure to have been loved so well by someone so amazing!

Daisie - I'm sure I was frustrated by all the moving but I look back and am thankful because I can truly make friends anywhere!

Nf1 - Thanks!! Not just anyone can feather hair like that, ya know? We must have been gifted!!

Annie Joy - I have no clue what my teacher's name is. And I remember wishing I had a sister - you and Momma always seemed so close to me during that time that we lived near each other.

  6. Great picture!!! I always wanted to have Farrah Fawcett hair!

I've never tried to count the number of homes we lived in, but there were some years that I changed school 3 times in one grade...it wasn't easy, but it does teach you to make friends.

  7. You had awesome hair especially for a 4th grader! That is a lot of moving, at least you were able to have some family near you.

  8. Isn't it funny how details like that address become lodged in our memories? Couldn't tell you the streets I lived on in college, but I could tell you the former address of my best friend from high school... odd!
